John Burke's Factoids
  • John played Little League. In his final year on the team, he got his first hit and went on to get 18 hits for 18 times at bat. Today, he plays on the company softball team and is the official motivator for the team.

  • John reached the rank of Sergeant in the U.S.M.C. At the end of his enlistment, the Corps tried to entice him to re-enlist for six more years by offering him a $30,000 cash bonus and three more years in Hawaii. John turned down the offer. One year after his honorable discharge, the First Gulf War took place.

  • Four years after leaving the Marines, John graduated with honors from the University of Southern Maine. He hold's a B.A. in English.

  • John’s heroes include: His son, his mom & dad, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, U2, Led Zeppelin, The Sex Pistols, and The Clash.

  • His favorite guitar is his wine-red Gibson Les Paul Studio. It’s perfect for melting faces.

  • His debut open mic performance happened on July 3, 2007 at Bull Feeney’s pub in Portland, Maine. His impromptu performance (the emcee never showed) included Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly” and an acoustic rendition of the Troggs’ “Wild Thing.”
