I added Canadian Solar Inc. (Nasdaq: CSIQ) to the 10X Stocks model portfolio in October of 2022 because it was the cheapest, high-growth solar stock out there. And it seems like the folks at BlackRock agree with me. On Tuesday of this week, BlackRock agreed to invest a full $500 million in Canadian Solar’s Recurrent Energy unit.

It’s been just over three months since I recommended a two-pronged approach to adding bullish exposure to the nuclear energy industry — via shares of Centrus Energy Corp. (NYSE: LEU) and units of the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust (OTC: SRUUF).

I was on a call recently with an investor who specializes in early-stage private companies. Some call this “venture capital” investing, or “angel” investing, depending on just how young, unproven or speculative the company is.

Some are calling it a “nuclear renaissance,” but Sprott CEO John Ciampaglia says it’s a resurgence. Whatever the name, nuclear power is starting out 2024 strong — with uranium prices reaching $91 per pound, their highest levels since the Fukushima disaster over a decade ago. Since that tragic day in March of 2011, the world has been highly skeptical about the potential benefits of nuclear power. But with increasing stress on current fuel sources, and global tensions from the Middle East to Russia, governments and consumers are gradually coming around.
