If there was a single defining trait of the early artificial intelligence (AI) mega trend, that trait was correlation… Because correlation is pretty much all we’ve seen since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. Since then, the mega-cap “Magnificent Seven” tech stocks have been on a historic run — soaring higher and higher together, virtually in lockstep. Smaller AI stocks saw serious gains of their own as investors scrambled to buy anything having to do with AI.

While we see plenty of headlines about Intel, Nvidia and AMD, the real chipmaker behind all those cutting-edge companies is Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM).
