Today, I’m recommending you “clear the deck” on positions that have gone south on us. The status of some of these positions is not new information — I’ve written about and had them marked as “write-offs” for some time now.

The markets will be closed on Thursday and will close early at 1 p.m. Eastern on Friday. But as I mentioned in the trade room, the pricing of options this week is reflecting that and otherwise still quite favorable.

Stocks are flying higher today. Shares of the Nasdaq-100 tracking exchange-traded fund QQQ are up more than 2% today and nearly 13% over the last 13 trading days. That index is driven by large weightings to some of the mega-cap technology stocks that can seemingly do no wrong — the likes of Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), NVIDIA (NVDA) and Alphabet (GOOG), aka “Google.”
