As I mentioned in my trade alert last week, the cracks are beginning to show in the market’s beloved “Magnificent Seven” stocks. This includes the leader of that pack, Nvidia Corp. (NVDA). Cracks have begun to show in the market’s beloved “Magnificent Seven.” While Apple (AAPL) and Nvidia (NVDA) are, for now, protecting small gains in February … the rest of the group is down.

On Tuesday, I commented on the “early signs of success” we were seeing in our bullish small-cap tech stock plays … as the call options on MTLS, ATEN and OSPN were all showing open gains. Unfortunately, today’s market action shows just how quickly things can change, especially in the small-cap space. While we’re still holding on to a marginal open gain in the $22.50-strike calls on A10 Networks (ATEN), our positions in OSPN and MTLS, in particular, have taken meaningful hits.

We’ve talked in recent weeks about how the “Magnificent Seven” is losing its luster. Case in point… The Mag-7 is up just 1.7% so far this year, whereas the rest of the S&P 500 — that is, the S&P 500 minus the Mag-7 stocks — is up a healthier 6.2%.

Last Monday, Chinese AI firm DeepSeek shocked the world — and sent shares of top tech stocks spiraling… More than $1 trillion in market cap evaporated before the closing bell rang that day, with Nvidia (NVDA) alone seeing an unprecedented $600 billion loss on the day. And that was just the beginning…
