While the economies around the world have become increasingly interconnected — and therefore more highly correlated — there’s still very much an economic benefit to riding the short- to medium-term waves of momentum in foreign stock markets, either as a diversifier to your likely already-U.S.-heavy stock portfolio, or as a source of market-beating returns. (Remember, U.S. markets don’t outperform foreign all the time!)

It’s now been just over two months since I recommended a bullish play on shipping company, Teekay LNG Partners L.P. (NYSE: TGP).

First, we currently have two bearish plays on the health care sector — one on the broader sector (XLV) and one on the narrower health care providers industry group (IHF).

But I just have to mention how the S&P 500 closed at an all-time high yesterday! And it was led higher by none other than the technology sector (XLK), which subjectively suggests investors are confident and eager to keep buying into the cyclical, high-beta sectors and not only the defensive ones.

I’m playing catch-up after a busy Irrational Economic Summit that stretched into the weekend. Plus, if I haven’t mentioned it already, I’ve been working overtime to develop a new product offering through my 7-Figure Trader publication, which most of you guys should have access to.
