We had an active week of trading. On Wednesday, we switched from puts to calls following our intermarket strategy signal. This resulted in a loss on the puts on iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM).

The broad market moved sharply higher this week. This move came after the Federal Reserve updated its guidance. Officials continue to expect three interest rate cuts this year.

We generally focus on our beginner strategies (such as IWM, Seasonal Rotation, Top 1% and Earnings Season trades) in your portfolio update. But occasionally, I like to highlight some of our advanced strategies, which are called that because they require a little more knowledge about order types. But once you’re familiar and comfortable using those, they are really for anyone to follow.

This was a relatively quiet week for our beginner trading strategies. On Wednesday, we switched calls on iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) following our intermarket strategy. We closed the IWM March 6 $200 call for a 36% gain. Our new position, IWM March 13 $205 calls, showed a 24% gain as of yesterday’s close.
