Congrats on 2 Weeks of Wins! How Big Were Your Profits?

I mentioned yesterday that I wouldn’t be doing a trade wrap this week. Nevertheless, I wanted to say “congratulations” on six winning trades these last couple of weeks — especially in a market that looks bleak. Your discipline netted you wins! Yesterday, we sold our calls on Ford Motor Co. (F), Vipshop Holdings (VIPS) and the iShares 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEF) for double-digit wins when the broader market was flat after falling 1% on Monday.

Weekly Trade Wrap: EBAY, MDLZ & MDT

It’s been a tough slog for buy-and-hold investors and our short-term, seasonality-based strategy. The Federal Reserve delivered on expectations yesterday: a 75 basis point rate hike. Based on futures markets, the odds of that happening were greater than 82%. So it would seem that markets had already priced the move in. However, stocks sank sharply lower yesterday afternoon. The Fed’s forecast of how high it’s likely to take rates is now 4.6% — higher than the market expected or liked.
