Welcome to another PRO Day … let’s jump right into this week’s update. The dust is starting to settle. After months of anticipation, the Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC) did what everyone expected yesterday … for the first time in four years, it cut the fed fund rate.

Between 1918 and 1919, nearly 500 million people worldwide were infected with a strain of the influenza A virus … known as “Spanish flu.” Of those 500 million, the epidemic is believed to have killed between 20 million and 50 million in two years. That low-end estimate equals the number of people killed during World War I. Researchers around the world worked tirelessly to develop a vaccine for this deadly strain.
