Can you guess what it is? I know, it’s corny: What I’m most thankful for this year is … you all! All the emails you’ve sent in … all the trades and gains we’ve taken … your support underlines everything we do here at Green Zone Fortunes. As a self-admitted perfectionist, I don’t spend as much time feeling thankful as I probably should. I always want more for myself and my subscribers … always push hard toward a new, loftier goal … and never feel satisfied with the status quo. Then Thanksgiving rolls around…

When was the last time you praised a monopoly? With threats of breaking up Big Tech companies… Antitrust regulators cracking down on everything from airline buyouts to railroad mergers… It’s rare that investors see the word “monopoly” painted in a positive light. Yet, we still have cases where immense power — and fortunes — are concentrated in the hands of a select few. These monopolies develop when would-be competitors either don’t have the technical expertise needed to compete … or simply don’t care to.

Everyone knows the story of Netflix versus Blockbuster. It’s a classic example of disruption in the business world. Blockbuster was the status quo … and Netflix was the innovative disruptor. Blockbuster eventually went bankrupt … while Netflix’s stock climbed from a couple bucks to over $700. But I’ll be frank… If this is how you think it always plays out when there’s “disruption” in the business world … think again!

I’m a little bearish in this week’s update, but it’s for good reason. I want you to know what’s coming as far as a recession goes and how you can best prepare for that with your investing strategy.
