Centrus Energy Corp. (NYSE: LEU), my November 2022 stock recommendation in the nuclear energy sector, has earned a streak of positive press over the past few months. First, in mid-June, the company announced the successful completion of its operational readiness review and subsequent approval by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).Folks, this is a big deal. Centrus is now the first U.S.-owned uranium enrichment plant to begin production in 70 years! When I recommended adding Centrus (LEU) to the model portfolio late last year, I explained how the company effectively has a government-backed monopoly in the U.S. enrichment market.
