These last six weeks have been a truly unprecedented rollercoaster ride for investors… Stocks started plunging immediately after President Trump’s “Liberation Day” Tariff announcement in early April, logging the fastest-ever 20% decline from all-time highs as panic-selling spread. The mainstream media wasn’t exactly helping either, with countless headlines painting a gloomy picture about what was headed our way.

Last Monday, shares of Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) rocketed more than 30% higher on the announcement of a new deal with Novo Nordisk A/S (NOV), which immediately put Novo’s blockbuster drug Wegovy on Hims’ platform. This recent surge has driven our total gain on HIMS to over 100% since I recommended it in November! Hims has been in a battle with Eli Lilly (LLY) and government regulators to maintain their ability to legally distribute GLP-1 weight loss drugs.

There’s a whole new gold rush happening out there… From Main Street investors to central banks, from Wall Street hedge funds to sovereign wealth funds — it seems like everyone has become a gold bug in 2025. Back in 1936, John Maynard Keynes revolutionized the study of economics by pointing out that humans weren’t always rational actors. Instead, especially in times of uncertainty, investors are often driven by what Keynes called “animal spirits,” or the “spontaneous urge to action rather than inaction, and not as the outcome of a weighted average of quantitative benefits multiplied by qualitative probabilities.”
