Hello and welcome to Superforecast Trader! We’re already beginning to see the impact of Trump’s transformative policies on jobless claims and payroll numbers … and it’s influencing our strategy for this week:

Welcome to your weekly Superforecast Trader update … And what a week it’s been! We’ve seen a new administration sworn into the White House and the promised flurry of executive orders that followed. We’ve also seen snow fell over the southern United States, including the panhandle of Florida and New Orleans.

Earlier today, we closed out the first half of our first-ever Super Divergence Trade for a 102.4% gain in just half a day! I want to congratulate everyone who had the opportunity to follow our recommendation into the January 17, $583-strike call options on the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSE: SPY) and grab a quick trading victory to kick off the new year. The market is closed today, but I still wanted to get a note out to you. Let’s jump right into what the jobless claim numbers told us this week … which delivered a bit of a surprise… The consensus was at around 215,000 — which was right around my number — but the actual print came to 201,000.
